The Union government seems to have made his decision at the helm of Canada's Research In Motion (RIM), which makes the BlackBerry, offering data services unless it meets the security concerns raised by the Department Interior and the intelligence services.
The government hopes that RIM will come out with some sort of solution at the earliest, even as more nations joined India raises similar concerns and threatened to suspend the BlackBerry services. "Officials told us that RIM's [the company] experts work with organizations to address security concerns raised by the Interior Ministry and security agencies. Our representatives are also in contact with them, and I hope a solution will be found soon. We have no problem with the voice service, our booking service is some of their data services, they will face, "Minister of State for Communications and IT says Sachin Pilot TheHindu Thursday.
Stressing that the government would take action in regard to the security of the country have been supreme, Mr. Pilot said: "When RIM was ready to meet the security concerns of other countries, they will listen to us too. Our security and intelligence agencies must have access to their data services, and there is a very reasonable request given the world situation. We do not want to listen to private conversations and business of our citizens or businesses, but we can not compromise our security. "
The security agencies want access to RIM BlackBerry single data services such as Messenger and e-mail. But the company says it is not possible because it has no key for encrypted data stored on its servers in Canada. In addition, RIM is not willing to put in place its servers in the country. India now has more than 10 lakh BlackBerry customers, primarily data solutions from RIM that allow continuous access for mobile and time-sensitive information by e-mail, text messages and Internet telephony. Any action against RIM will not only harm the society, but also the Indian operators.
